Independent artist Corey Hendriks releases new single, “Artifact.”

Santa Cruz, CA. 2018 - Singer-songwriter Corey Hendriks has decided to pursue his music career as a solo artist. Look for the release of his new single Artifact on April 3rd, 2018. After his L.A band On The Surface broke up, Hendriks decided to go solo. Corey realizes he's an artist who believes in staying true to who he is at his core. He knows who he is as an artist. Hendriks loves the rock, rock-country genre as well as a little rock-pop. Corey Hendriks has recently been playing with the band Jive Machine at venues up and down the West Coast. Jive Machine has a lot planned including two tours coming up during summer 2018. Hendriks will remain as part of the band even though he's releasing his single. Currently, he's enjoying both playing with the band and pursuing his solo career.

Hendriks fans relate him to artists like John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen with a dash of David Bowie. It's no surprise that his upcoming single Artifact reflects an obvious homage to the 80's. Hendriks was inspired to write and produce his single about a forbidden love affair he previously had. Nothing like love went wrong to inspire an artist to pour their heart out. Hendriks wrote the video, filmed and directed it all (except for 10-15 seconds of royalty-free footage) as well. Marcus Rein helped him record vocals and mixed and mastered Artifact at his studio in Santa Cruz CA.
Hendriks' single will initially be available for purchase on CD Baby and Band Camp before making its' way to other distribution avenues. A 5 song EP is planned for release later in 2018.
