Mariah Carey won’t wed in Las Vegas
The 46-year-old singer is set to wed fiance James Packer later this year (16). There has been much speculation about her big day, but Mariah is doing her best to keep certain aspects of the ceremony a secret.
However, as she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night (03Jun16), Mariah dismissed claims she could be walking down the aisle in Sin City, where she is currently performing a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Asked if she might marry in Vegas, Mariah replied: “No darling. No.”
When Mariah asked Jimmy if he thought she should have an Elvis impersonator officiate the wedding, he replied: “That could be fun too!”
But Mariah insisted: “Um… no. I don’t think so.”
Mariah used her appearance on Jimmy’s show to poke fun at her much talked about diva reputation.
When the late night chat show host offered Mariah the chance to conduct the interview from the comfort of a bubble bath, she got in to the water without hesitation – in her black sequinned gown and diamond jewels.
Jimmy also got into the tub in his suit and ensured Mariah was comfortable during the interview by having someone hand-feed her grapes.
Mother-of-two Mariah has been hitting headlines with her incredible Vegas show, which fans from around the world have flocked to the city to see.
While other stars such as Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez are also currently in Vegas with residencies, Mariah thinks her show has something that makes it stand out from the rest.
"No offence to any Vegas situation, but it's not the typical (show)," she said. "What I mean by that is that the audience are devoted fans as opposed to just (people there to see a show) because they're drunk and gambling."
