Ellie Goulding and Dougie Poynter ‘reunion on the cards’
The singer split from the McFly musician in March (16) after a two year on-off relationship, but at the time confessed she was hopeful that they would rekindle their romance.
Dougie has since enjoyed a flirtation with model Kara Rose Marshall, and Ellie’s been linked to Britain’s Prince Harry, but the musician’s friends all know he’d take Ellie back.
“Dougie talks about Ellie constantly and agonises over why they can’t be together,” a source told Britain’s Heat magazine. “Ellie says that right now they’d be separated too much because of work, but he still finds it hard.”
Dougie’s hopes were no doubt raised after the Army singer invited him to a screening of environmental documentary film Racing Extinction. The blonde musician posted a message on Instagram thanking Ellie, further heightening speculation that a reunion is on the cards.
British popstar Ellie previously blamed their hectic work schedules for the split, and earlier this month (Jul16) she was forced to pull out of two European festivals on doctor's orders after she was diagnosed with exhaustion.
However, Ellie got out of her sick bed to attend the screening telling reporters at the event: “I’m here tonight because I am so passionate. My doctor advised I didn’t do anything for the next few weeks, but this screening room is less than a mile from my house and I don’t have to sing... and this is a matter of saving the planet. It’s the most important thing in the world."
Ellie’s tour is due to end on 8 October (16) in Melbourne, Australia, which will mean the star will have more free time for herself – and Dougie.
